What is the correlation between the Word of God and the rain coming down?
Isaiah 55:10-12 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. NKJV
The Word of God comes down and it waters the ground. According to the Word of God, we were created out of the dust of the Earth.
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. NKJV
As we read and meditate on the Word of God, it “waters” and nourishes us spiritually. Then, we respond with praise. Our praises are like vapors going to heaven. The vapors create condensation in the form of clouds. In the same fashion, our praises build up the blessings. Just like the rain coming down from the sky, these blessings will come down for further nourishment. And once again, we will respond with praises going up as vapors. And the cycle repeats. We will be clapping our hands just like the trees.
What examples of the Word of God bringing forth nourishment and praises on your journey so far?
It’s amazing to think that our “praises go up as vapors” like a sweet aroma before God… how much more should we want to praise Him all day long! On the contrary I believe the opposite is true when we complain. It’s not a good odor but a foul one and we know what is attracted to manure. I believe the same way that God inhabits our praises… demons inhabit our complaints. If we could smell the words we speak how much more mindful would we be of the words we allow out of our mouths!
What a great point. Amen! I agree. So much has been written in the Word of God and in Christian publications about “the tongue.” And yet, we fail so easily.
Thank you for your great input. We continue to remind one another about the narrow road.
Prov 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. KJV
Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
