We as Christians identify with the cross of Jesus Christ as the symbol of our faith. But what does that cross that we hang on our necks or on our walls or on our clothing, etc. mean to us?
Much has been written about the meaning of the Cross of Jesus.
My contribution to all that has been written is concise in theme and explanation.
With the risk of sounding blasphemous (Lord please forgive), the death that our Lord experienced on the cross was not more painful physically than others that were subjected to that form of torture.
The suffering that our precious Lord endured on the CROSS was the enormous weight of the sins of every single person that existed throughout the centuries past, present, and future. In addition, on that CROSS He carried and paid for the healing of every illness and disease throughout the centuries past, present, and future.
Thus, next time we touch a cross, whether a piece of jewelry, a decorative accessory, a print, etc., let’s remember with reverence what took place on HIS CROSS on that significant day of redemption.
