Why did Jesus have to do a double touch for healing the eyes of a blind man?
Mark 8:22-26 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” 25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. NKJV
Could it be that SIGHT is the enemy’s most significant target of the attack on humanity?
We are warned to look at the world around us through the spiritual lens of God.
Eve was encouraged to look through and rely on her physical eyes and ignore her spiritual eyes.
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes …(Genesis 3:4-6 NKJV)
Our top priority for a successful walk is to guard our spiritual eyes.
Guarding our eyes can determine the righteousness of our next step.
The Philistines’ first thing when they captured Samson was to attack his eyes. If they can remove his vision, then they can steal his divine purpose. Although blinded and without his eyes, Samson held on to one more vision and God granted him that vision. (Judges 16)
The Lord asked the prophets of old over and over again: “what do you see?” It was through their spiritual eyes the Lord gave them instructions and revelations.
The book of Ezekiel is filled with VISIONS the Lord gave him about the things concerning His people. The book of Daniel as well.
GUARD YOUR SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL EYES!!!!!

Being careful what we see on TV. The eyegate can get infiltrated by the enemy
Being careful what we see on the 8nternet, don’t look at things or read things that doesn’t glorify God
Many times we do not have control over what we hear or see, such as a billboard or the music over the speakers in a store. However, our prayers can wash us, detox us, from anything that contaminated our conscience during the day. As Jesus said to Peter: John 13:10-11 “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” NKJV. Praise His perfect plan.
I agree with this 100%. We should try and guard our eyes from things not sent from God but as humans we are exposed without consent to the horrors of the world. I have noticed whenever I see anything that doesn’t sit right with me, I learned to rebuke it in the name of Jesus. I instantly feel calm and peace once I pray about it. It’s almost like “washing it away”. I feel the same way with “seeing” and “hearing” things.
Great insight, “washing it away.” I also agree that all this applies to hearing as well.
